Do QR codes ever expire?

No, QR codes created in ConnectQR do not expire. However, whether they continue to work depends on the type of QR code you created and whether the content or plan associated with it has changed.

Static QR codes

Static QR codes are permanent. Once created, they will always point to the content they were originally linked to. You can’t update their destination or track analytics—but they’ll never stop working unless:

  • The URL or file they link to has been deleted or moved
  • The linked website or service is no longer available

Dynamic QR codes

Dynamic QR codes can be updated and tracked, but they are subject to your ConnectQR plan. They’ll remain active as long as:

  • Your account is within your plan’s dynamic QR code allowance
  • The QR code has not been manually paused or deleted
  • You have an active ConnectQR account

If your plan changes (for example, you downgrade to a plan with fewer dynamic QR codes), any codes that exceed your allowance may be automatically paused. Learn more in What Happens When My Trial Ends?.

Note: If you delete your ConnectQR account, all your dynamic QR codes will stop working permanently.

How to check if your QR code is active

  1. Go to your My ConnectQR page
  2. Paused QR codes will appear greyed out
  3. You can reactivate a paused code if you are within your plan limit
